Patients stay overnight in the hospital on mats on the floor the night before surgery so they are waiting for us in the morning. From there they go to the operating room decorated for the lunar new year. The notice on the figure gives the particulars about our visit. Two surgeons are sharing the same operating room that we have been assigned, and we have two beds in the post operative unit.
From there, the patients to go to the floor where parents are expected to provide food and drinks, administer medications, and take care of the children.
The surgical schedule filled completely yesterday, and there is a waiting list. Families arriving today are given a form that says they were seen this year and should be considered for the next trip to Phan Rang next year.
