L.M. Asta is a writer and pediatrician who practices in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Her fiction has appeared in Zone 3, Inkwell, Philadelphia Stories, Schuylkill and Zeniada, and her essays have appeared in the Journal of the American Medical Association, Hippocrates, and the New Physician Magazine where she was a contributing editor. KQED has aired her commentaries.
Her health and medical articles have appeared on WebMD, Rx.com and mylifepath.com as well as in the Philadelphia City Paper, Bay Area Parent, Valley Parent, Parents’ Express, and MetroKids.
Dr. Asta is board-certified and is a fellow at the American Academy of Pediatrics. She is a clinical professor of pediatrics at the University of California at San Francisco and past pediatric chair at John Muir Medical Center. She graduated from Temple University School of Medicine and the Johns Hopkins University.
